INDIA MADHAVI

French architect, designer and scenographer, India Mahdavi imagines colorful projects with soft and playful forms, in France and abroad. Influenced by cinema, design and art, India Mahdavi creates polychrome universes exalting nomadic culture. India Mahdavi and Thierry Costes met in 2001 in New York and exchanged ideas on the Apt. (for “Apartment”) that India had imagined for the restaurateur Jonathan Morr. Eight years later, Thierry re-contacts the architect-designer to propose working together on the GERMAIN project, then on the PARADISIO. Several collaborations followed, with establishments such as the THOUMIEUX but also the CAFÉ FRANÇAISs: both speak of “simultaneous desires” and “obviousnesses in the development of the projects”.

OITOEMPONTO

OITOEMPONTO* was born in 1993 from the perfect alchemy between two remarkably different but terribly complementary personalities. It is almost the ideal success. With Artur Miranda’s experience in the world of fashion and design, he has distinguished himself by a resolutely modern vision of decoration, a clear desire to break with established codes and to dare the most unexpected combinations, while promoting and developing an innate sense of color. Jacques Bec brings to the duo a refreshing enthusiasm and a French touch, as well as the precious know-how acquired during his studies at the Met de Penninghen school of graphic arts in Paris. To recognize the DNA of OITOEMPONTO is to understand that this story is made up of many others that come and go, whenever the project demands it.

Together, the two designers create sublime sets for dozens of lucky people. Each production is the result of long hours of coordination during which the client’s lifestyle is carefully examined to best meet their needs and desires. The result is a subtle blend of the owners’ tastes and the incomparable talent of Jacques Bec and Artur Miranda. Unique places, both refined and pleasant to live in, bright and discreet, modern and timeless…

A delicately joyful and chic atmosphere, just like the two designers. * OITOEMPONTO means “eight o’clock sharp” in Portuguese.
